Simon began his career as an apprentice, aged 15 at his
local Nissan and Hyundai dealership. He spent five years
working his way up the ranks, completing Nissan
courses and researching the latest car technologies to
stay ahead of his counterparts and do more than just oil
changes! In that time, he left Canterbury College, having
won the Caffyns Award for Best Achievement of a Part Time
Motor Vehicle Student, and moved to an independent commercial car/van
dealership to gain more experience on a variety of vehicles.
In 2002 he spent the spring working full time, as well
as flying around Europe to join the Honda European Touring
Car Championship Team, where he was part of the pit mechanics
team, working for Pro Motorsport in Scotland.
Overnight engine rebuilds, clutch replacements and
gearboxes were just some of the high-pressured jobs he
was involved in. Simon had a vision for his career and
oil changes were not where his ambitions lay. In 2003
he took over Broadstairs MOT Centre and has built up a
strong customer base thanks to his honesty and good work.
He refuses to replace parts unless diagnosed as faulty
and ensures his honesty and high standard of workmanship
means every vehicle that leaves his workshop is of the
highest standard. Simon likes to care for your car, not just service it!
In late 2006, he was accepted into the
Bosch Car Service network which only has 300 members in
the UK. The garage maintains its independent identity,
yet has the support of great German products from Bosch
and the seal of approval from many car-owners who want
the back-up of a dealership - without dealership prices.
Simon has now started Bosch training courses to keep up with
ever changing technologies and practices.
KEVIN

Kevin began is a fully qualified Nissan hi-tech with more than 20 years experience in the motor trade as a mechanic.
He joined Broadstairs MOT Centre in February 2006 - leaving a dealership to work in a forward-thinking and well equipped independent garage.
He has worked for BMW, Baileys, Nissan and Hyundai and is a qualified MOT tester.
CRAIG AXFORD - (LEVEL 2 TECHNICIAN)
Craig joined Broadstairs MOT Centre in November 2005 whilst in his second year of an NVQ motor mechanics course.
His previous garage allowed him to carry out servicing all day, every day - but no such luck here!
Craig now has the ability and confidence to rebuild engines, headgaskets and carry out MOT repairs, diagnostics and much more. He has passed all Level 2 examinations and is now in his third and final year, and Thanet College tutors have said the improvement is "remarkable".
Broadstairs MOT Centre is proud to have him as part of the team.
